On Wednesday, Grove Town Council unveiled a special ONCE lottery ticket featuring the Festa do Marisco, which will be distributed throughout Spain. The partnership with the organisation will ensure the gastronomic event is featured on five million tickets, providing excellent publicity for the event, as explained by the Councillor for Tourism, María López: “It’s a brilliant promotion.”

The lottery ticket is illustrated with a photograph of a dish from the festival itself and “means taking the name of the Festa and the image of the dish all over the country”.

This is the second time the Festa do Marisco has featured on a commemorative ONCE lottery ticket. The first was in 2006, as explained by Eloy Hermelo, director of the centre in the province of Pontevedra, who pointed out that the organisation “seeks a balance between local engagement and recognising the impact that ONCE can have on a global scale”. Hermelo made these remarks in the presence of the mayor, José Cacabelos, and the local sales team, highlighting their excellent work throughout the year.

The Town Council invites people to buy a ticket to take part in the prize draw to be held on 5 October and encourages everyone to visit the Festa do Marisco, which is due to start in a few hours’ time.
