The 25th Festa do Marisco 10K brought together 400 runners in O Grove this Sunday, on a day marked by sport and a festive atmosphere in the town. The event has thus maintained its ability to attract large crowds and has established itself as one of the unmissable sporting events on the Galician sporting calendar. This year’s race was attended by leading athletes such as Sandra Mosquera and Soledad Castro, who were keen not to miss this occasion.

The main race started on time on the Paseo de Beiramar, where spectators gathered to watch the competition and cheer on the participants. The sky remained overcast for much of the morning and rain set in later, particularly during the races in the junior categories. The weather did not, however, prevent those attending the event from enjoying the day.

In the men’s senior category, Amadeo Abal, from C.D. Atletismo Surco Lucena, was the first to cross the finish line. Anxo Bello, from Atletismo Narón, came second, whilst Hugo García, from Atletismo Portugalete, took third place.

In the women’s senior category, victory went to Ángela González, from Comesaña Sporting Club. Sara Castillo, from Club Atletismo Femenino Celta, came second, and Natalia Castro, from Oysho-Vicky Foods Athletics, completed the podium.

With this latest edition, the Carrera del Marisco brings another sporting event to a close with a high turnout, bringing together runners from different backgrounds and of all ages every year.
